Labette County is a certified ACT Work Ready community!

We understand that quality workforce is a key factor in your business location decision. Being a certified Work Ready community means qualified job candidates with high-demand skills are ready to go to work for your business immediately. Besides being one of the first certified Work Ready communities in the State of Kansas, Great Plains sits in the first ever tri-state Work Ready region which includes Jasper, Barton, and Newton Counties in Missouri; Ottawa County in Oklahoma; and Cherokee and Labette Counties in Kansas, ensuring a skilled labor pool is available.

A wide variety of services are available through the Kansas Workforce Centers located throughout the state.  Services can include: statewide and national job listings; applicant pre-screening and application acceptance; space to conduct interviews as well as staff to assist in scheduling; space for job fairs; applicant assessment services and testing; Veteran services; and current labor market information.  These services are available to all Kansas employers at no cost.
